Following yesterday's barrage of potential casting updates for Star Wars: Episode VII, one more tidbit has surfaced following a dinner that director J.J. Abrams had with some curious attendees before the table read for the sci-fi sequel happens today. The List (via Jedi News) reports Abrams had a dinner last night at a London restaurant called 34 where Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisherand Peter Mayhew were all in attendance, along with previously reported villain player Adam Driver. But one other surprising guest at the dinner was King Kong, Lord of the Rings and Rise of the Planet of the Apes mocap star Andy Serkis.
This is the first time Serkis has been linked to Star Wars in any capacity, but considering his incredible abilities in motion-capture performance, and the array of odd aliens that might be on display in the sequel, his involvement wouldn't exactly be surprising. It's just one more rumor to throw on the ever-growing pile as we wait for official news on Episode VII to surface. It seems like the big announcement will happen on Star Wars Day, May 4th, this coming weekend. We'll have official word on anything revealed about Star Wars: Episode VII as soon as the cat is out of the bag.Would you like Andy Serkis in Star Wars?
