Rajinikanth – KS Ravikumar film titled Lingaa

Superstar Rajinikanth’s next project with director KS Ravikumar has been titled Lingaa. Interestingly, the title happens to be the name of his grandson(Aishwarya-Dhanush’s second son Linga).

Rajinikanth is playing dual roles in the film and Anushka and Bollywood’s Sonakshi sinha have been roped to play the female leads. AR Rahman will score the music for the film. The shoot for the film is expected to begin on May 2.

Vishal gets injured

Actor Vishal who has started acting in his third production venture ‘Poojai’ directed by Hari has been severely injured while shooting a stunt scene recently in Chennai.

The first schedule of this Vishal-Sruthi Haasan starrer is currently happening in Chennai. Sruthi Haasan’s part in this schedule has been completed and she has left to Mumbai last week to concentrate on other projects.

Following that Hari has been shooting a stunt sequence with Vishal in a private studio at Saligramam. A grand set costing one crore rupees has been erected for this stunt sequence within the studio.

In a particular shot Vishal had to blow a stunt artiste. Since the stunt artiste escaped getting hit, Vishal’s right hand dashed at a metal that was kept behind.

Due to this the middle finger in Vishal’s right hand got injured and he had to be rushed to hospital since blood was oozing out. 14 stitches have been administered in the injured finger of Vishal and doctors have advised a week’s rest for the actor cum producer.

Owing to this the ‘Poojai’ shooting was temporarily halted and it is expected to resume in a couple of days. However Vishal will return to the sets only after two weeks as reported by sources.

Kajal Aggarwal in an Iranian remake

Actres Kajal Aggarwal will be acting in her third Bollywood flick after the super hit films ‘Singham’ with Ajay Devgan and ‘Special 26′ with Akshay Kumar.

Acclaimed director Ajay Verma who is making a comeback after a gap of four years, has acquired the Bollywood remake rights of the Iranian language film ‘Cease Fire.’ He has roped in Sharman Joshi and Kajal Aggarwal to play the lead roles in this film.

The film revolves around a young couple who have ended their marriage due to petty quarrels and what makes them reunite.

Interestingly Kajal Aggarwal’s debut Bollywood film ‘Singham’ is also the remake of Tamil super hit film ‘Singam’ starring Suriya and Anushka in the lead roles.

In Tamil Kajal has untitled flicks with Jiiva and Dhanush to be directed by debutante Chandramohan and Balaji Mohan respectively. Her latest Tamil film ‘Jilla’ with Vijay in the lead role has recently completed a successful 100 day run in theatres,

Vijay and Samantha’s character names in ‘Kaththi’

It is well known that Actor Vijay is donning double role in his 57th film that is being directed by A.R.Murugadoss. Now we have interesting details about the characters played by Vijay in this film. But all that follows are based on unconfirmed reports.

Like his first dual role flick ‘Azhagiya Thamizh Magan’ Vijay will be acting as the hero as well as the main villain in this film.

As per Murgadoss’s story Aravind is a detective in Kolkata. He is given a tough time by the villain character played by Bollywood actor Neil Nithin Mukesh who chalks out violent conspiracies.

Only at a later stage, Aravind comes to know that his real enemy is his look alike Andrew. Vijay acts as Aravind and Andrew in the film.

Samantha’s character name in the film is Veni and she is the love interest of Vijay’s Aravind character. Sources say that Andrew character will also have a love interest but the name of girl playing that role is still retained as a secret. Sathish of ‘Ethirneechal’ fame is acting in a character named Thanu.

Actress Oviya who made a sparkling debut with the 2010 super hit film ‘Kalavani’ celebrates her 23rd Birthday today (April 29).

Oviya was born in Thrishur and made her onscreen debut with Malayalm film ‘Kangaroo’ that released in 2007. After acting in a few other Malayalam flicks the young lass moved to Tamil film Industry.

100 days for ‘Anjaan’

It is being widely reported that director N.Lingusamy is shooting the climax stunt sequence of his upcoming film ‘Anjaan’ and a song featuring the lead pair Suriya and Samantha will be shot in Goa in the month of June.

What we have come to know form a reliable source close to the film contradicts with this. Indialglitz has been informed that the entire shooting of the film has been wrapped up and only the patch work of 10 days is pending. The film has been shot entirely in Goa and Mumbai in a 100 day period with short breaks in between.

Regarding the music department taken care by the composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, we have learnt that the stylish and racy flick will have just four songs and all of them have been shot already.

Produced by Lingusamy’s Tirupathi Brothers and UTV Motion Pictures ‘Anjaan’ has Suriya playing dual roles. The film is expected to hit the screens in the mid of August.

Latha Rajinikanth confirms ‘Kochadiiyaan’ release date

While ads have started appearing in daily newspapers confirming the release dateof Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming magnum opus ‘Kochadiiyaan’ news about yet another postponement of the film’s release have started spreading viral. It is being said that the film may not release as scheduled owing to financial issues faced by one of the producers of the film.

Rajini’s wife Latha Rajinikanth has refuted these claims as rumors in a recent interview and confirmed that her younger daughter Soundarya’s debut directorial venture will hit the screens as planned on May 9.

Latha also confirmed that she will be watching the film in a Chennai theatre on the day of its release as it has been her usual practice in the case of her husband’s films. Asked whether Rajini will also watch the film in theatres Latha said it was impossible because people easily identify him wherever he goes and that causes uncontrollable euphoria.

Rajini has always wanted to avoid disturbances to general public and that’s why he won’t be watching his films in theatres.

For the first Latha Rajinikanth has sung a song composed by double Oscar winner A.R.Rahman, in ‘Kochadiiyaan’.

‘Ennamo Nadakkadhu’ on the verge of success

Actor Vijay Vasanth who played effective supporting roles in ‘Chennai 600 028′ and ‘Nadodigal’ has elevated as the lead hero in the film ‘Ennamo Nadakkudhu’ that released over the weekend. Directed by debutante Rajapandi and produced by Vijay Vansanth’s home banner Triple V Recotds, the film was touted as a crime thriller.

The film stars Mahima Nambiar as the lead heroine.Prabhu, Rahman, Sukanya, Saranya Ponvanna and Thambi Ramiah have acted in pivotal roles.

The film that released as one of the three releases last week has gained positive word of mouth and good reviews. This has brought in immediate fortunes for the underdog film with the screen count of the film being increased by 30% from today (April 28).

In the forthcoming four day weekend starting on May 1, a public holiday which falls on Thursday, does not have any prominent release except ‘Nee Enge En Anbe’ starring Nayanthara in the lead role. Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ will be releasing on the next Friday that is May 9.

This two week gap coupled with increase in the number of screens is sure going to benefit the box office performance of ‘Ennamo Nadakkudhu’.

STR and Hansika restart

The shooting of one of the long delayed projects in K-town industry ‘Vaalu’ has resumed recently. The film’s lead heroine Hansika has shot for the song starting ‘You are my darling’ composed by S.Thaman.

Tweets and photos confirming the resumption of ‘Vaalu’ shooting could be found in the Twitter profiles of Hansika as well as Silambarasan aka STR, the lead hero of the film. STR has also confirmed that the trailer of the Vijay Chander directorial film will be released on May 1st.

Produced by S.S.Chakravarthy under Nic Arts banner, ‘Vaalu’ commenced in 2012. Santhanam plays the lead comedian role and the film promises to be a youthful romantic comedy. STR and Haniska fell in love while shooting for this film and they have also announced the breakup of their relationship within the release of the film.

Audio composed by Thaman was released on February 14, 2014 and the film can be expected to hit the screens soon.

Anirudh’s number 4 for Vijay and Murugadoss

Not only the shooting but also the composing work is going on a rapid pace for ‘Ilayathalabathi’ Vijay’s ‘Kaththi’ that is being directed by A.R.Murugadoss.

Young sensation Anirudh who has been delivering back to back chartbusters is working for the first time for a star as big as Vijay with this film. He has already composed three songs including Vijay’s introduction number, which has been sung by him (Anirudh) and ‘Hip Hop Tamizha’ Aadhi.

Now the composer has finished composing the fourth song this mega budget flick produced by Ayngaran International and Lyca Entertainments. The song which is reportedly a romantic number has impressed the entire ‘Kaththi’ team. Anirudh has confirmed the news in his micro blogging page.

“Song number 4 done! The team is very happy and excited with this song too! ” Anirudh has earlier promised that he will make Vijay croon a number in the film but is yet to reveal any further details about that.

Samantha to celebrate while shooting

Actress Samantha who has become the darling of Tamil and Telugu movie buffs celebrates her 27th birthday today.

Samantha is currently acting with Vijay in ‘Kaththi’ directed by A.R.Murugadoss and Suriya in ‘Anjaan’ directed by N.Lingasamy. She is also the top contender for the heroine slot Vikram and Karthi’s upcoming films. The actress is equally popular in Telugu and has already acted with all the leading stars like Mahesh Babu, Junior NTR, Pawan Kalyan, Siddharth and Naga Chaitanya

Samantha has not gained this star status overnight or by the success of a single film. Born to a Malayali Mother and a Telugu Father, Samantha sees herself as a Tamilian since she was born and brought in Chennai. She finished her UG in a famous women’s college in Chennai and entered modeling.

Shruthi Haasan to take up a legal battle

Just before the release of her Superhit Telugu film ‘Race Gurram’ Shruthi Haasan’s working stills were released and went viral in the internet. The stills showing Shruthi in unflattering looks displeasured many as they were seen as cheap publicity gimmick by the actress.

Shruthi however came to know about the stills only when people started asking her on how he gave her acceptance for such kind of promotions. The actress has clarified that the stills were in fact the working stills taken during a song shoot of Ram Charan Teja starrer ‘Yevadu’ and they are not connected to ‘Race Gurram’.

Only the stills approved by the Production house and also the actress featuring in it should be floated for publicity. These stills of the ‘Ezhamr Arivu’ actress taken from unflattering angles were never meant to be released and they should have been deleted right away. However some miscreants who got access to these stills should have released them with a malicious intention of denigrating Shruthi’s dignity.

Shrtuhi has also put on record that she never believes in such kind of publicity and these things are entirely out her control. Shruthi has also decided to battle out the issue legally. She has revealed her plans to file an FIR in Hyderabad since she wants to get to the bottom of the issue and identify who is responsible for this demeaning act which amounts to breach of trust.

Kushboo denies reunion

 

Ever charming actress Kushboo is out on a family tour after tire less political campaigning schedules. A couple of days back, news suggesting that she has consented to act with actor Prabhu in a debut director’s film, made headlines.

Kushbu and Prabhu are one of the most admired pairs of late 1980′s and early 1990′s. Ishwarya again in a Vijay Sethupathi film

It seems Kollywood has started following the footsteps of Bollywood in churning out multi starrer flicks. A sizeable number of multi starrer flicks are currently under cans and one among them is ‘Idam Porul Eval’ directed by Seenu Ramasamy.

It stars Vijay Sethupathi and Vishnu Vishal who have earlier paired up with the director in National award winning film ‘Thenmerku Paruvakatru’ and ‘Neerparavai’ respectively.

The first schedule of the film has been completed recently in Kodaikkanal with Vijay Sethupathi and Nandita who has been paired opposite the ‘Soodhu Kavvum’ actor for the first time.

Ishwayra who has impressed many with her performance in ‘Rummy’ and ‘Panniyarum Padminiyum’ is acting in a Vijay Sethupathi film for the third time in a row. But this time she has been paired up with Vishnu Vishal, the other lead hero of the film. The portions involving this pair are expected to be shot in the backdrops of Madurai soon.

‘Idam Porul Eval’ will have music score by YuvanShankar Raja and ace lyricist Vairamuthu will be working with the composer for the first time in this film.

Jeyam Ravi and Hansika complete their ‘first’

The town’s new Romeo-Juliet has completed the first part of their love tale. We are referring to the film titled ‘Romeo Juliet’ that marks the second time pairing up of Jeyam Ravi and Hansika who sizzled with their on screen romance in ‘Engeyum Kadhal’.

The first schedule of ‘Romeo Juliet directed by Lakshamanan, a former assistant of S.J.Suryah has been completed in Chennai. Only talkie portion were shot in the first schedule. The second schedule of the film will begin on May 15.

The film is being produced by S.Nandhagopal’s Madras Entertainments who have earlier produced films like ‘Machakkaran’ and ‘Newtonin Moondram Vidhi’. D.Imman has been roped in to score music and Soundararajan will handle the camera.

Bala’s heroine acts as Seetha

Actress Madhu Shalini who paired up with Arya in director Bala’s comic caper ‘Avan Ivan’ and with Siva in the romantic film 16, was not to be seen in any Tamil films after that. The actress is currently acting in a powerful lead role in a short film.

In the Telugu short film ‘Seethavaalokhanam’ that is being directed by Madala Venu, Madhu Shalini acts in the mythological character Seetha, the wife of Lord Rama in the great Indian epic Ramayana. The film’s plot aspires to tell Ramayana from Seetha’r perspective.

Madhu Shalini has revealed in an interview that the film will have Seetha narrating her hardships to Ahalya, another important female character in the epic Ramayana. It is worth recalling that prolific writer of modern Tamil literature Pudhumaipithan had written a short story based on the conversation between Seetha and Ahalya.

Madhu Shalini admits that she was a bit hesitant to take up the offer since most of the dialogues were in Grandhikam that has very tough words to pronounce, but feels happy to have accepted the role. Madhu Shalini is also designing the costumes for her role in the film.

Gautham wastes 10 days of Anushka

Actress Anushka who is busy with multiple projects in Telugu including the mega budget period flicks ‘Bahubali’ and ‘Rani Rudrama Devi’ has been roped in to play the lead heroine role opposite Ajith in his upcoming film that is being directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.

Speaking in an interview, on how he managed to rope in the busy beauty for his film, Gautham said Anushka was kicked about pairing up with Ajith and allocated call sheet of 10 days a month for the film without even listening to the script.

However the first 10 days allocated by Anushka were not utilized since the script was not ready. When Gautham apologized for wasting her call sheet, Anushka did not make a fuzz about it and had said to him that script was very important than anything else.

Anushka has joined the shoot of the yet to be titled 55th film of Ajith, a couple of days back and the director has assured that her character in the film will have equal importance as to Ajith’s character.

Gautham has also revealed that when he met Ajith for the first time for the initial talks of the project, the actor requested him to take his own time to pen the script. Gautham said he took almost four months to complete the perfect script that will be a treat for Ajith fans.

Arun Vijay opens up about his next

After delivering notable hits with ‘Malai Malai,’ ‘ Maanja Velu’ and ‘Thadiayara Thakka’ actor Arun Vijay’s next as a lead hero will be ‘Vaa Deal’. The actor has opened up about the film directed by Shiva Gnanam, in a recent interview.

‘Vaal Deal’ is about a middle class guy Vetrivel living with his widow mother in housing board quarters. His penchant for taking challenges posed by his friends leads him tread a path that goes against his mother’s wish since it has taken his father’s life. He does that without the knowledge of his mother In that process love strikes him and the film focuses on how he handles the situation.

Arun Vijay has been left in awe by Karthika Nair, who has paired up with him to play the lead heroine role. Arun has credited the ‘Ko’ and ‘Annakodi’ actress with powerful acting, charming looks and outstanding dancing skills. He has also assured that the romance portions in the film will be so colorful.

The film has been in the making for more than two years and Arun Vijay hopes such hard work will bring success for the film.

Apart from ‘Vaa Deal’ Arun Vijay is playing an important role in Ajith’s 55th film that is being directed by Gautham Menon.

Santhanam will never do this

Actor Santhanam who has turned as a hero with his upcoming film ‘Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham’ helmed by actor cum director Sreenath is keeping his fingers crossed to check his fortunes as a lead actor.

Sources close to the actor reveal that the ace comedian is contemplating to accept more such offers to act as a hero based on the success of VPA.

In a recent interview, Santhanam was asked to name a clich�d shot normally associated with mass heroes that he dislikes. Santhanam was quick to reply that he does not like the shot that shows a hero walking towards the camera, while a vehicle is bursts to flames at the backdrop.

Hope our directors are listening and they do not write such scenes having Santhanam in mind.
