Hans Zimmer Set to Compose the Score for 'Batman vs. Superman'?

Hans Zimmer
With Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment holding firm on their Batman vs. Superman release date of May 6th, 2016 to open against Disney and Marvel's Captain America 3, all we can do is wait and see what each of the superhero films do as they move through development and closer to production. Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel already has a pretty full cast with Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck as Superman and Batman, not to mention Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, but now we have another name added to the behind-the-scenes roster with Hans Zimmer confirmed to compose the score.
Zimmer was previously unsure if he should return to score the film that will see the first big screen combination of Batman and Superman, mostly because of his work on Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight franchise. Zimmer told Vulture:
"Honestly, I’m just sort of grappling with that right now. Quite seriously, the thought right now is that no, I don’t want to go and take what I did with Chris and just plonk it into another movie. There isn’t one good reason to do it, and there are so many good reasons not to do it.”
But now Zimmer isn't as worried as he tells Digital Spy he will begin work on the score after he's done with Interstellar. Zimmer says, "We've already had a couple of chats, and once I finish the movie that I shall not talk about I will probably head over to where Zack is shooting his movie and just hang out a bit and see if we can come up with any ideas." But Zimmer is still worried about making sure he keeps his work on The Dark Knight series and new themes for Ben Affleck's Batman separate, "That's my problem, that's my dilemma. I don't want to betray, if that's the right word, the Dark Knight movies. That was Christian, it was Christian's role." We certainly looking forward to hearing what he comes up with.
