First 'Maleficent' Featurette Shows More of Angelina Jolie's Spells

Maleficent
There's just over two weeks left until The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters, officially kicking off the blockbuster summer season. One of the films arriving in the same month doesn't take a cue from a comic book, but from classic animation. Maleficent tells the story of Sleeping Beauty from the point-of-view of the titular sorceress (Angelina Jolie) who places the infamous curse on the young princess (Elle Fanning), and a new featurette talks more about the revision of the well-known fairytale. Jolie offers some insight into the character, as well as Fanning's memory from her childhood spent absorbing the film. Watch!
Here's the first featurette for Robert Stromberg's Maleficent from YouTube:
Robert Stromberg (a production designer on Alice in Wonderland and Avatar) is making his directorial debut with Maleficent from a script written by Linda Woolverton (The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast). Angelina Jolie plays the title villain from the classic Disney film Sleeping Beauty in this live-action spin that also stars Sharlto Copley (District 9), Elle Fanning (Super 8), Sam Riley (On the Road), Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), Juno Temple (Atonement) and more. Disney sends Maleficent to theaters everywhere in 3D on May 30th, 2014this summer.
