6 Everyday Essentials That Most Brides Forget to Pack in Their Trousseau

6 Everyday Essentials That Most Brides Forget to Pack in Their Trousseau
Wedding trousseau is one of the most prized possessions for every bride. After all, you shop for months for all the beautiful stuff that you would be wearing as a newlywed. However, while getting engrossed in the huge task of trousseau packing, many women forget some very basic things.
The trousseau must contain all those things that you would require for over a span of few months or at least weeks, after your marriage. Hence, you should not forget to pack the basic things so as to prevent yourself from feeling lost in a new setup. Here is a list of those little things that you must pack in those big, bulky suitcases:

1. Accessories

You surely would have kept all the things that are required to make you look complete. For example, matching bags, jewellery, clutches etc. You also might have brought with you those satin, silk, georgette sarees that you always dreamt of wearing. Here comes the day of donning the beautiful crepe you brought. And you realise that you have the pleats in your hand, but the safety pins are nowhere to be found. Being a new member in the family, you might feel shy in asking for it from other female members. And since men hardly use them, you cannot really bank on your husband to have them in his drawers.

2. High heels to bathroom slippers

You definitely would have picked up that smashing pair of silver stilettos to go with your chic saree, and brown boots to match up to the overcoat for winters. However, realising the fact that you also required those unglamorous but comfortable pair of bathroom slippers only after reaching your new home, might be a little late. You surely would not want to create the impression of being a careless person in front of your in-laws by asking for such a basic thing. So, it is better to shop for one that fits your feet, and put it in the suitcase.

3. Toiletries

Everyone has certain preferences as well as needs when it comes to toiletries. The shampoo that gives a shine to your husband’s hair might not do the same for you. Similarly, you might be using a soap that suits your skin type, but we doubt if your new family would be aware of what skin type you are. So, to save yourself from any disaster by using the products that don't suit you or to avoid making someone from the family rush to the market, it is better to keep at least one unit of each item that you need every day in the bathroom such as, face wash, body wash, conditioner, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, body lotion, etc.

4. Comfortable clothing

The thought of wedding automatically brings in an image of the well dressed bride in heavy and beautiful, but uncomfortable sarees or suits. But you surely would want to be in comfortable attire as much as possible. So, do not forget to carry comfortable T-shirts, jeans, track suits and night suits with you. Also, while it is a good idea to buy that 'racy lacy' lingerie to seduce your better half, do not go overboard even with that and stick to the basics.

5. Medicines

You might be needing certain medicines quite often due to a health issue. Once you move to your new place and find yourself in the need of those medicines, having them with you in your bag would reallly be a big relief for you.
Also, it is quite possible that the climatic conditions of your honeymoon destination would be completely different from where you stay. In such cases, the change in weather might affect your health. And since the chances of you leaving for your honeymoon immediately after the wedding are quite high, you might not get the time to prepare a first-aid kit for your trip. So, take out time to meet your doctor before the wedding itself, and get a prescription ready for basic problems like body ache, cold, high temperature etc. While you move to the medical store to get the medicines as suggested by your physician, also pick up the things like pain relieving gels or sprays, antiseptic lotions and creams, etc.

6. Sanitary pads

Even though this is one of the most important things of a woman’s life, you might still forget to put it in the suitcase. Since you would be among new people, you might find it difficult to ask someone to get the sanitary napkins for you. In such cases, you also would not want your husband to go out looking for your safety nets. So, to avoid yourself from getting in the situation of being ‘down and out of stock’, just put a pack of it in your bag.
Undoubtedly, wedding shopping is one of the most exciting things of a woman’s life. And, it is so much fun to indulge yourself completely in those flashy sarees, jewellery, makeup and much more. But at the same time, do not forget to pick the everyday basics that you would need in your new home, as much as those beautiful things in your bag.

5 Relationship Problems Faced by Couples Who Marry Young

5 Relationship Problems Faced by Couples Who Marry Young
Many of us might get fascinated with the idea of marrying the person we love as early as possible, so that we can have more time to spend with each other. Although it is quite an appealing deal to get married to the person you love, but marrying young may also bring with itself a set problems and difficulties. Couples who are very young might face problems due to the lack of maturity to deal with tough situations. Maturity, which comes with age and experience, is very important for a healthy relationship. So here are some of the major problems that the couples face who marry young:

1. Matters concerning money

Money matters can strain the strongest of bonds, irrespetive of the age of the relationship. As it is the stage of life when people usually get their careers started, chances of the financial condition of young couples being not so good are therefore, quite high. They have to spend on paying off house rents, bills and other major and minor household expenses.
In addition, this is the age when people rarely do think of savings, and tend to spend more on things like travelling, shopping, dining out etc. Well, with more needs and less money at their disposal, the probability of fights to occur between the couples get higher as compared to the ones, who are financially settled through a fair amount of work experience.

2. Communication issues

‘Spending more time with each other’- the reason that probably prompts most young couples to marry early, might not be there anymore after the marriage. When young couples come across the responsibilities of their lives, they tend to work harder to fulfil them. Busy routines with work, hectic travelling schedules, pressure of achieving targets and goals, etc., might not really leave any time for any kind of communication by the end of the day.
This can also lead to problems in their sex life as either of the partners might always be tired and not up for it. Furthermore, stress and fatigue can lead to irritated attitudes, which can spark unpleasant conversations that further lead to arguments.

3. Feeling restricted

This can be majorly an issue with those couples who have separate friend circles, or even where either of the partners is a social butterfly and the other one is totally opposite. At young age, most of the people wish to party hard every day with the friends. However, if marriage creates restrictions in a person's social life and that too at an early stage of the life, then there are possibilities of tensions to occur between the couple.

4. Problems with the in-laws

Young people are usually quite impulsive. They like to live life on their own terms and do not like to be guided or advised by others on matters relating to their life. On the other hand, parents always advice on how to save your money after getting married, on leading a more sorted life, on prioritising life goals, etc. This is yet another problem that can upset the young couples, especially when either of the partners is given a piece of advice by his/her spouse’s parents.

5. Parenting issues

Sometimes, even the decisions pertaining to having children may also become the cause of conflict among young couples. In cases where either of the partners wants to have kids whereas the other one is not ready, can create stress in the relationship. The priority of couples, who become parents at very early stage of their life, might shift to the kids, which can create distances between the two partners.
Being in love and the feeling of not being able to live without each other is a great thing that can happen to those who are in relationship. But, if you decide to tie the knot at an early stage of your life, just ensure that both of you have matured in the relationship and are all set to tackle these troublemakers.

Best Ways to Take Care of Your Precious Jewellery

Best Ways to Take Care of Your Precious Jewellery
We all know about the love that women have for jewellery. Be it the family heirlooms or the trinkets collected from the streets, we are sure that you cherish every piece of your collection. But, isn’t it heartbreaking when you find out that your diamonds have begun to lose their lustre, or your gold jewellery is losing its sheen? Well, if you investigate the root of the problem, you will realise that your jewellery needs some tender care in order to have a longer life.
So, here are a few simple tips which will help you to take care of your jewellery better.

1. Pearl jewellery

Pearls are really sensitive and they can get easily scratched or discoloured. So keep in mind, various points to take care of them.

Do's:

  • Always wipe your pearls gently with a damp cloth, dry them off and store them in an airtight container. Keep your pearls in a pouch or a box that has soft lining.
  • Always wear your pearl jewellery only after applying makeup.
  • Keep your pearls away from perfumes, makeup and hairsprays as they can cause discolouration.

    Don'ts:

  • Never use baking soda or bleach to clean them.
  • Do not make the mistake of using a tooth brush for cleaning; even the softest one can cause abrasions on the pearls’ surface.
  • Never bathe or swim with your pearl jewellery as chemicals in the water may erode it.
  • Never use plastic pouches to store your pearls.

2. Silver jewellery

It does not take much for your silver jewellery to tarnish. That is why, you must be extra careful while storing it.

Do's:

  • To clean your silver jewellery, use a phosphate-free detergent or just soap water. Rinse it off, and wipe it with a soft and clean cloth.
  • Always use warm water to rinse off silver.
  • Always keep your silver in airtight containers or zip lock bags.

Don'ts:

  • Like pearls, silver jewellery too should be kept away from cosmetics and perfume because it speeds up the process of discolouration and tarnishing.
  • Do not store it with any other metal as it tends to tarnish faster.
  • Never keep your silver jewellery in paper, cardboard or wooden boxes.
  • Never store away your silver jewellery until and unless it is completely dry.

3. Gold jewellery

Though gold does not tarnish as easily as silver, it does tend to lose its sheen over a period of time. Unlike silver, water does not have an adverse effect on gold.

Do's:

  • You can clean your gold jewellery twice a week with a mild detergent, lukewarm water, and a soft cloth.
  • Keep your gold chains and bracelets in separate boxes, as they can get entangled easily.

Don'ts:

  • Chlorine has a very harsh effect on gold. When it comes in contact with your gold jewellery, it tends to weaken it. So keep your gold away from chlorine water.
  • Do not use any alcohol-based cleaning liquid if your gold jewellery is studded with precious stones. This is because such liquid tends to dilute the gum that holds the stones in place.

4. Diamonds and precious stones

Do's:

  • You can clean your diamonds with a good quality jewellery cleaning solution that is easily available with leading jewellers. You can also simply mix some ammonia and water to clean your diamonds.
  • Always use a soft brush to clean it and dry it off with a soft cloth.
  • Always check the prongs that hold your gemstones in place. If they are cracked or you find them to be loose, rush to a jeweller to get them repaired.

Don'ts:

You may hate to remove your wedding ring, but that does not mean you should wear it even when you are in the kitchen. Many women make the mistake of wearing their diamond rings while kneading dough or cooking. The result- your diamonds start losing their lustre. So it goes without saying, remove your solitaire while cooking.
We all love our jewellery, but that ‘love’ alone is not capable of making it last for longer. So, make use of these tips, and let your jewellery take care of adding wonders to your looks everytime you wear it.
