NYC Opening of the Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Traveling Art Show

Last night, Saturday, April 19th, in New York City, just a few blocks from the Hook & Ladder 8firehouse, Gallery 1988 opened the Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary art show. Located at the Gallery 69 art space in Tribeca, the show includes an impressive amount of Ghostbusters-themed art and merchandise for sale and will be stationed in New York for a week. From here it will head to Los Angeles, then Chicago, then eventually to Comic-Con in July. Ivan Reitman's Ghostbusters was released in June 1984 and the collection of art is one of the best I've seen honoring a classic, with outstanding work from so many well-known artists.
The art show opened with a reception at 7PM and a line that went around the block. There were, of course, many fans dressed up in full Ghostbusters uniforms with proton packs, though no Ecto-1 showed up (too bad). Aside from that, it was an excellent show I highly recommend stopping by anytime while it's open. In the meantime, here's a look at a few of my photos of the event and some of my own favorite. Up first, this awesome Slimer centerpiece is one of the stars of the #gb30 show right smack in the middle of the gallery:
