Sivakarthikeyan’s latest film ‘Maan Karate’ has been declared a super hit and the film is still running to packed houses in many prominent screens across the state. Even the success party was held and everyone associate with the film are basking in the glory of the success.
But now the Thirukumaran directorial has courted controversy. A complaint has been registered in the Chennai Commissioner office for portraying the sport of boxing in poor light.
The complainant Kirshnamurthy claims to be a Chennai based professional Boxer who has won many state level and national level boxing tournaments conducted by the Tamilnadu Boxing Association. He is also running a coaching center for boxing.
Krishnamoorthy who has alleged that ‘Maan Karate’ includes many scenes that insults boxing and boxers, has mentioned that before making a film based on boxing, the makers could have approached the boxing association to obtain guidelines to handle the sport in a decent manner.
Krishnamoorthy has sought legal action on director Thirukumaran, A.R.Murugadoss who wrote the story of the film and Sivakarthikeyan the lead actor. He has also sought a ban on the film if the scenes denigrating the sport could not be removed.
