Just before Christmas last year, some disappointing news came from director Bryan Singer about a certain mutant not making the cut in X-Men: Days of Future Past. A certain sequence in the film had already ended up on the cutting room floor, and while Singer liked the sequence, it just became extraneous and he said, "it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in." However, it appears Paquin will end up in the film after all. Some observant eyes at BuzzFeed noticed the actress' name still in the credits at the end of last night's awesome final trailer, and they found out more info. Read on!
When Singer said Paquin was cut from the film, he said, "Even though she's in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won't appear in it." So it would stand to reason that Paquin's name would still be in the credits, but not end up in the film. Thankfully, BuzzFeed followed up with 20th Century Fox and learned that Paquin will indeed pop up in the film, but her role is described as "essentially, a cameo." If anything, we're betting we'll see Paquin in the big Sentinel battle in the future where many X-Men get killed, forcing Wolverine to go back in time, and then we'll likely see her in the presumed happy ending when Wolverine returns from the past to see that he's fixed the timeline. Either way, we're glad she'll show up.
