When a sequel to the horror film Sinister was announced over a year ago, director Scott Derrickson and writer C. Robert Cargill were said to be reteaming for the film. And while Derrickson is still attached as a producer and writer, the filmmaker just revealed on Twitter thatCiaran Foy, the director of Citadel (which won the Midnighter Audience Award at SXSW in 2012), will be at the helm of the horror sequel this time. If you haven't seen that spectacular psychological horror thriller, you can watch the trailer right here, and then seek out the film right away. It shows that Foy is perfect to direct Sinister 2 in place of Mr. Derrickson.
Still no details on how the story of the sequel will play out, but recalling the story of the first film, it only makes sense that the mysterious spooky figure and the creepy children that come in tow after some twisted home videos are discovered will terrorize another family. Remember, this one comes from Blumhouse Productions, the company behind all the latest popular horror franchises likeInsidious, The Purge and Paranormal Activity, so this should be something to look forward to in the horror genre.
