Ace comedy actor who is currently acting in the film 49O as the lead actor has given a interview to a Tamil weekly magazine and proved that his wit and sarcasm with which he ruled the silver screen is still intact.
Rubbishing the claim that he is making a comeback with 49O after a long gap, Goundamani recalled that only in 2010 he acted in two films Jaggubai and Pollachi Mappilai. He also mocked the media persons for speaking about this short gap in his career as equal to the 14 years of exile of Lord Sri Rama
Speaking about 49O, he clarified that he is the hero of the film which deals with the livelihood concerns of farmers. He was quick to add that the film does not criticize the government in any sense and added that the film will argue for Organic farming methods and it will also be a tribute to Environment activist Nammazhwar who campaigned for organic farming throughout his life before passing away recently.
When asked about today’s young generation of comedians following his style of giving counters to everyone around to succeed in cinema, The actor asked whether he has acquired the sole proprietary rights to tease other and what’s wrong in others resorting to it.
Goundamani also said that he maintains friendship with all actors including Santhanam and Vadivelu and revealed that he uses to chat with them over phone at times.
When asked to comment about recent Tamil films, Goundamani said he watches only Hollywood films whenever he gets free time.
